Livonia, MI – When it comes to ultimate performance on the street, one might believe it is customary to sacrifice a little comfort for high performance capabilities. Only Roush Performance could set higher standards and produce a suspension kit that achieves all-around high performance and extraordinary ride quality.
After about a year of extensive engineering development and testing, Roush Performance began releasing the ‘05 Stage 2 Mustang suspension kit in June, a unique package carefully designed and engineered with equal priority in ride quality, NVH, and excellent cornering ability, to create a street car that can handle the track and master the road.
The Roush Stage 2 Mustang package includes all of the Stage 1 option content, plus a performance suspension that is second to none, as explained by RPP Engineering Manager Paul Burke.
Burke said, "We used our previous generation Stage 3 Mustang as a minimum performance level starting point for our development work, and then raised our targets from there. Along with setting high targets for maximum handling capability of the Stage 2, we placed a high priority on preventing NVH issues that can accompany suspension part changes while developing ride quality that wasn’t harsh, and closer to a production performance car feel. The result is a complete suspension car tune that can pull over 1.0g of lateral acceleration on a skid pad, exceptional handling at the track, and is enjoyable to drive for long distance trips."
Essential to the Stage 2’s impressive ride quality are the spring and dampers that were tuned and built to Roush Performance’s specification. The combination of these components, along with increased diameter front and rear stabilizer bars with polyurethane bushings, help to keep all four 275/40ZR18 tires firmly planted while cornering.
The Roush Stage 2 Mustang suspension kit is backed by a 3yr. / 36,000mi. warranty that covers all components and mirrors Ford’s warranty.
