Eight-Stack Excellence…The Roush 402IR Engine

Livonia, MI (July 14, 2005) – Imagine the excitement of lifting your car’s hood and seeing what appears to be the famous “Weber” Carburetor-induction system.  Well now it’s possible.  Roush engineers and calibrators have spent 18 months designing, perfecting, and tuning the ultimate Ford-based 500HP-500 Ft.Lb. Fuel Injected Stroker.

8stackengine The combination of the Weber-style 8-Stack Fuel Injected Induction System utilizing Roush engineered calibration and proven track record will boost your vehicle’s personality and turn heads with its unique appearance and exceptional performance.  The 402IR has all of the attributes of a daily driver with more than enough ponies to tear up the pavement.

For the enthusiast looking for the thrill of 500 HP, the 402IR delivers.  The “8-stack” refers to the eight individual runner throttle bodies, and its arrangement of internally balanced forged rotating assembly (crank, rods and pistons) and the magic of a 4-inch stroke, delivers smooth power from idle to red line.

The 402 IR, like all engines offered at Roush Performance, was developed by the same technicians, and in the same room where engines are built for the racing greats of the Roush Racing team.  This engine is hot tested, then dyno tested to verify power, and serial numbers are issued.  It is shipped with documentation and carries an “R” series 2YR/24K mile warranty.

Roush sums it up best: “We’ve built engines that have won us championships…Now it’s your turn-Isn’t it time to put a little ‘Jack’ in your car?”
