Lights, Action, and Cameras! The ROUSH® Road Crew took a private VIP Tour of the Warner Brothers Studio front and back lots, getting a rare look at what really goes on behind the scenes of television and movie shoots.
The morning began in Irvine at the weekly Cars & Coffee show where the dozen ROUSH® Mustangs beckoned to the attendees. As the fog burned away to a clear day, the RRC got on Interstate 5 and headed north to Burbank and Bob’s Big Boy for a pleasant brunch prior to the tour.
Once at Warner Brothers, the Mustangs parked together on the studio lot and immediately drew attention from both the security guards and the construction crews working on the weekend. The RRC members boarded a pair of carts and the tours began with Jamie and Rizzo as most capable tour guides.
The tour wound around the massive sound stages first and stopped at number 12 where everyone hopped off, went through the door and found themselves on the set of “The Mentalist,” a crime drama. Members toured the “offices” of the fictitious CBI, and the interrogation room.
Other behind-the-scenes areas that the RRC got to see was the Central Perc set from “Friends” as well as the the vehicle museum where we saw cars such as the Batmobile, the General Lee, and The Mystery Machine..
In addition, and just for the RRC members, the Warner Brothers film museum was opened and filled with costumes and props from several movies, including “The Maltese Falcon,” “The Matrix,” “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory,” and a floor dedicated to the Harry Potter franchise. Unfortunately, photos were not allowed in the museum, but the memories will last for a long time.
Thanks to Jonathan Lamas and About.com Mustangs for their sponsorship of the event. This was certainly a great start to the “ROUSH® Road Crew California Showtime” weekend, and the photos and memories tell a tale that few people have an opportunity to experience.
