Livonia, MI (February 4, 2005) – Roush Performance, the street-performance division of Roush Enterprises – which also houses two-time, back-to-back NASCAR championship teams at Roush Racing, has outlined plans for the Roush Stage 3 Mustang and F-150.
As a long-standing symbol for ultimate levels of performance within the Roush product line, the Stage 3(s) will both go into production, at the Roush Performance Headquarters in Livonia, MI, in September 2005 - both will be built as 2006 models.
"We will officially open the order banks for the 2006 Stage 3 Mustang and F-150 in September. In the meantime, due to an early demand, we are keeping a master reservation list at our headquarters," said Joe Thompson, General Manager and Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
The Roush Stage 3 Mustang and F-150 will both house a roots-style supercharger system. A unique Roush calibration will deliver advanced levels of performance. Both supercharger systems will produce six pounds of boost.
"Our combined marketing and engineering targets for the Stage 3 Mustang is 425hp. And, the F-150 should produce 430hp," said Paul Burke, Product Engineering Manager.
With both models still in development, final pricing will be available in July; however, Thompson points out that in order for these to be market-driven vehicles the threshold for both base models should be in the mid-$40,000 range.
Current Roush production of the Mustang and F-150 include the Stage 1 and 2 models. These vehicles can be found at any participating Ford Dealership.
The Roush Performance vehicle line has produced more than 8,000 units since its inception in 1995.
