Livonia, MI (June 29, 2005)-Roush Performance vehicles not only stir up interest while cruising on ordinary streets, but really stand out when driving alongside top performance cars from the world’s leading manufacturers.
The "Festival of Speed," annually held at the Goodwood estate in West Sussex, UK, is proclaimed to be the world’s biggest and most diverse celebration of the history of motorsport, and Roush was invited to take part in the prestigious celebration and enter the Roush 05’ Stage 2 Mustang this year.
About 150,000 visitors attended the three-day festival, and a significant amount of onlookers paused in the excitement to take notice of Roush’s sonic blue Mustang in the "SuperCar Run" event.
The SuperCar Run is a non-competitive event that features about 30 of the most exclusive current production and planned production performance cars. The vehicles are not timed, and the purpose is to show off their incredible performance capabilities and style on a hill-climb course. The cars climbed the course twice the first day, and once the second and third days.
Roush Performance's Mustang was chosen to receive television airtime for its class on ITV, Britain's biggest commercial television network. The network used coverage of about six vehicles from various car classes involved in the festival, and Roush's Mustang was shown from the "SuperCar" class during the hill-climb.
The Roush Mustang was positioned in the paddock with other high-quality performance cars, such as the Aston Martin V8 Vantage, DB9 Volante, and Vanquish ‘S,’ and also with Ford’s white GT and blue Superformance Coupe equipped with a Roush 4021R engine.
The Festival of Speed was held on Friday June 24th, Saturday June 25th, and Sunday June 26th. For more information, please visit http://www.goodwood.co.uk.
