Las Vegas NV, November 1, 2005 – Jack Roush and Roush Performance Products (RPP) today announced the very first ROUSHcharged Stage 3 Ford F-150 pickup truck.
The F-150’s 445 horsepower comes through the addition of an F-150 ROUSHcharger system and the 150 horsepower and 135 foot-pounds of torque it adds. The ROUSHcharger package includes an OEM-level calibration that provides the optimal blend of fuel, spark, and 6 PSI of boost.
The Stage 3 F-150 comes with a package of aerodynamic enhancements and Roush 22x9-inch forged aluminum wheels. The wheels, from the new Roush Wheel Collection, are American-made and are stronger and lighter than standard wheels. The Roush Performance Products (RPP) appearance package includes front and rear painted bumpers, a hood scoop, and a chin spoiler.
The Stage 3 F-150 package includes a Roush Performance Products exhaust system. "Our Roush Performance exhaust system adds horsepower by decreasing backpressure in the system, using mandrel bends and a straight-through muffler," says Jamie Nickel, Roush Performance Products engineer.
The tuned suspension system under the Stage 3 offers a balance between comfort and handling capability, with specially valved Roush front and rear shock absorbers, matched rear leaf springs, front coil springs, and a 25-mm solid front sway bar.
Other Roush Performance Products innovations introduced at SEMA along with the Stage 3 F-150 included the new Roush Wheel Collection brand, the ROUSHcharged Stage 3 Mustang, the Roush Competition Parts line, the Roush Performance 451RFE performance engine, and the F-150 and Mustang ROUSHcharger kits, at the Roush Performance Products booth, 24701.
