One And Done (For The Season) For ROUSH Drag Team

LIVONIA, Mich. (September 28, 2006) - The 2006 season comes to an end this weekend for the ROUSH Performance drag racing team as they head to Bowling Green, Ky., for the running of the 8th Annual Nitto NMRA World Finals.

And though the team has not brought home any trophies yet, they have been extremely successful in the main goal - to help with the research and testing on a new line of Competition Parts to be offered by ROUSH Performance.

"We are really happy with the way that the NMRA season has gone for our ROUSH team," said Joe Thompson, general manager of ROUSH Performance.  "The goal of the program was to do some 'real world' testing on a new line of drag racing parts, to talk with the competitors and learn what they need, and to prove the durability of the parts.  With the first six Competition Parts now on the shelf, and the next phase ready to launch in the next few weeks, I think that the program has done the job exactly as we intended."

The first wave of the ROUSH Competition Parts line includes a Two-Position Rear Upper Trailing Arm Bracket (Part Number 401882), Adjustable Rear Upper Trailing Arm (Part Number 401880), Adjustable Rear Panhard Rod (Part Number 401878), Panhard Rod Relocation Kit (Part Number 401877), Rear Anti-Roll Bar Relocation Kit (Part Number 401883), and a Driveshaft Safety Loop (Part Number 401876).

The soon-to-be-introduced second phase of the ROUSH Competition Parts line will include several more parts such as single adjustable front dampers, double-adjustable rear dampers, steel flywheel, one-piece slip yoke driveshaft, rear axle housing cover girdle, and more.

The Nitto NMRA World Finals takes place at Beech Bend Raceway from September 28 through October 1.  The ROUSH drag racing team will have cars competing in the Open Comp and Modular Muscle divisions.  Last year, more than 300 cars competed in the event making it one of the most challenging of the season.

Based in Livonia, Mich., "The Art of Performance Engineering" takes place at ROUSH Performance Products.  In addition to the Stage 1, Stage 2 and Stage 3 Ford Mustang and F-150 styling, handling and performance upgrades, a complete line of performance parts and engines are offered.  For more information, visit www.RoushPerformance.com or telephone toll-free (800) 59-ROUSH.
