LIVONIA, Mich. - AAA and The ROUSH Automotive Collection are pleased to announce the August 2007 Open House event is scheduled for Thursday, August 16, 2007. Entrance to the event is free to the public. Activities planned for the Open House include a Roush Fenway Racing driver autograph session, ROEA Car Show, AAA race car simulator, engine build competition, Roush Mobile Dynamometer, drag race feature display and much more.
In addition to Jack Roush, NASCAR Nextel Cup Series race car drivers Carl Edwards, Greg Biffle and Jamie McMurray along with NASCAR Busch Series driver, Todd Kluever, will be on hand to meet fans and sign autographs beginning at 5 p.m. AAA, sponsor of the David Ragan Ford Fusion race car, will return with their race car simulator featuring exciting side-by-side competition on Daytona International Speedway.
The ROUSH Owners and Enthusiasts Association is hosting a Car Show during our Open House event. Awards, sponsored by Autoweek, include Best of Show, Best ROUSH, Best Ford and Best Custom. Car Show registration forms are available at or at .
Two teams from the ROUSH Engine Build Department will compete side-by-side to see who can execute a complete engine build-up, including a live test run, in the quickest time. The ROUSH Mobile Dynamometer will be available for those guests who would like to receive performance data on their vehicles. Three power runs will be performed for a modest fee of $75 per vehicle.
ROUSH Performance will have a strong presence with a variety of models from the vehicle line. Drag race fans can test their reaction time on the drag race simulator.
A series of door prize drawings will be held throughout the evening. Door prize give-aways will include a pair of Michigan International Speedway grandstand seat tickets for the 3M Performance 400 on August 19. Drawings will also include a V.I.P. pass give-away to the Inaugural NMCA Hot Rod & Muscle Car Nationals at Milan Dragway August 17 through August 19. Additional door prizes include a variety of Roush Fenway Racing merchandise and Roush Racing memorabilia.
Guests will be able to satisfy their appetite during the Open House event. Hamburgers, hot dogs, Italian sausage and other cruise-in favorites will be on the menu from 4:30 until 7:00 p.m.
99.5 WYCD, Detroit’s #1 for Country and fun, will be broadcasting live from 3 to 7 p.m. with Edwards and Lee.
Parking and shuttle service to the ROUSH Automotive Collection will be available at Madonna University located on the northwest corner of Levan Road and Schoolcraft (I-96) in Livonia. Shuttle service will begin at 2 p.m. and will run until 8:30 p.m.
