Journalists Get a Track Test of New Cooper RS3 Tires

SOUTH HAVEN, Mich. – A group of 18 journalists got a first-hand test of the new Cooper RS3 tires during the Tuesday, September 30 launch at the lakeside community of South Haven, Mich.  There is no better way to test the limits of an ultra-high performance tire than on a racetrack, and Gingerman Raceway provides a 1.8-mile test of high speeds and tight corners which proved the new RS3 tire has the necessary grip for both the street and track.  The ROUSH® Stage 3™ Mustang provided the necessary horsepower and handling package to really showcase the performance of the RS3 tire.

Journalists came from all points across the United States, and included representatives from Automobile, AutoWeek, Popular Mechanics, Road & Track, 5.0 Mustang & Super Fords, Muscle Mustang & Fast Fords, Modified Mustangs & Fords, Mustang Enthusiast, Jalopnik, UberDrive Magazine and more.

The day started with a presentation about the new tire and how it compares to others on the market (hint: it’s better).  From there it was on to Gingerman Raceway for a first-hand feel of the performance during a cool Fall day.  Despite a heavy cloud cover and threat of rain, the event stayed dry so they didn’t get a opportunity to test the wet handling characteristics which are reportedly much better than any other high-performance rubber.

Initial response was very positive from the journalists about the tire’s handling characteristics so be on the lookout for their reviews.
