"Paying almost double what a Mustang GT would cost might seem silly, especially when you consider how close the Roush is in price to a Chevrolet Corvette. But all of that is forgotten once the key is turned. The engine comes alive with a booming sound loud enough to frighten small children, before settling into a burbling idle that would sound at home on a marine engine. The Roush looks and sounds slightly menacing, and that's before one even digs into the throttle.
"Step on the gas, and all that extra money seems worth it. Torque is delivered instantaneously. Need to pass on a two-lane? No downshift required, fifth gear will suffice, thank you. In the lower gears, the Roush accelerates with a ferocity that will generate ear-to-ear grins on the face of the driver, and either terrified or exhilarated looks on the faces of passengers, depending on their intestinal fortitude."
