Beginning as a start-up in 1996, the ROUSH Performance vehicle assembly program utilized the many capabilities of the larger ROUSH company. At this point, vehicle assembly involved cars being put together in individual bays from start to finish.
Since that time, the program has evolved tremendously, in terms of both quality and efficiency. ROUSH vehicles now go through an assembly line. Once a car is completed, it's given a test drive and goes through a thorough post-assembly quality check.
Not only has the ROUSH assembly process become much more sophisticated from its initial form, but it has never stopped improving. Workers on the line are encouraged to improve the parts of the build process that they touch. At ROUSH performance our build process is constantly evolving to ensure that we can deliver the highest quality build.
Tom Lipinski has been the vehicle production manager since 1997 and has been with ROUSH since 1992. He says, "The technicians on the production floor are true performance enthusiasts and because of this they take great pride in their craftsmanship. You can see this on every supercharged vehicle that we produce – every powertrain technician takes ownership of their work by inscribing their name on the ROUSH powertrain build plaque located in the engine bay."
